#CHNG - SEX IN CHURCH! READ A STORY & GET ENLIGHTENED.

I woke up early today to attend my church's youth service at 8am. I've not attended one since I've been in Ijebu. The praise and worship session was indeed awesome....I really really enjoyed myself dancing and worshipping God.

After offering time, it was time for exhortation. Pastor Rotimi Omolaja (fondly called Pastor Rho) mounted the pulpit and started with a short prayer, I was about to raise my head which was initially bowed, and get ready to 'charge my life battery' with the word of God when I heard -

"This morning, we will be talking about SEX!"

I nearly screamed - "Haaaaa! Sex ke?"

I looked around and discovered that everybody wasn't surprised. Instead, they looked ready and prepared. It was at this moment I remembered that it was announced in church last Sunday that the topic Sex would be discussed this Sunday....I arrived church late last Sunday. I met the concluding part of the sermon.

No wonder church full well well today.

Pastor Rho started with a true life story.
"The story was all about a guy who fell in love with a lady he met at a church programme. They started dating after months of seeing each other. They were both Christians. They had their 'FIRST KISS' on their first date. In no time, they started enjoying great sex. Mary and John loved each other so much, they felt they were perfect for each other, so they should be husband and wife. Unfortunately, John lost Mary to a guy after she gained admission into the college. It was a big heartbreak for John. Mary's house was just a stone-throw from his house. He could see her door clearly from his window. The pain in his heart grew worse when he realized that the guy has started spending nights in Mary's house. Obviously they had started having sex. He decided to cure the wound Mary caused in his heart by looking for girls to have fun with as he could no longer hold himself. He tried hard to find at least a girl.....buh he didn't. So, he decided to hit the strippers club. He enjoyed himself and eventually got addicted to visiting the strippers club almost every night. He was earning big, so money wasn't a problem.

3 years later, Mary and John had already been drifted away from God. Mary called John to loan her some money. John wondered why she would have called him, what happened to her husband? They met at a restaurant, Mary revealed to John that the parents of the guy he met at the College didn't bless their union cuz she is white. John felt sorry for her and granted her the loan. After another 3 years, Mary called John for another loan, she was caught stealing money in her office and was charged to court, if she didn't pay a fine of $3,000, she would go to jail. John used this avenue as an opportunity to get Mary under his bed sheets again. Mary agreed to have sex with John, just for him to help her pay the money.

After the sex, John started feeling guilty of being the one responsible for Mary's troubles. Their first kiss on their first date started the troubles both of them were currently battling with. He prayed to God to help him find a lady to settle down with and start a new life. He also prayed to God to forgive him for all he had caused Mary. The hurt, the miserable life was all linked to their first kiss. He felt so sorry for everything.

After about 2 years, he found a lady. Thinking God has answered his prayers....He planned to get married to the lady who was already pregnant for him. John didn't really love the lady as much as he loved Mary but because of the pregnancy, he had to marry her. He wished it was Mary carrying his baby. She had the baby and they got married. After 2 years, she divorced him when she realized he married her cuz of the baby and not cuz he truly loved her.

His dreams were already shattered. Mary also wasn't finding it easy. John lost everything. At 52, he regretted ever having to kiss Mary. The kiss led to the tattered life they were both leading.

All of Mary's and John's problems could be traced back to the kiss, the sex, the romance they had before marriage."

Hmmmmmm! I have tried my possible best to summarize the story. Pastor Rho read it from a book, ME I wrote it offhand....I listened to the story just ONCE! *feeling fly* Ani, I dey very intelligent gan se.

After Pastor Rho finished reading the story aloud to us.....The Holy Spirit descended heavily and mightily on Pastor Rho. Pastor Rho talk plenty things oooo. Boku boku things, I must say. I'll try as much as possible to give you some of the points I wrote in church today. *I no dey jot for church buh today I did.*

Pastor Rho said:
- We live in a sex-sarurated society where everything we talk about is sex. Sex is what we use to sell our products and services. To advertise a fridge, you'll see a naked lady. To advertise an engine online, you'll see cleavages. And then you begin to wonder the relationship a fridge, or engine oil, or a tyre have with a lady in mini-skirt and bra.
*Pastor Rho no sabi sey your product will not sell if you no put a pix of a big 'Ukwu' in your promo.*

- Sex is one particular subject that must be discussed in the church. Especially with the youths in our churches today. But, no matter how hard we emphasis on this topic in the church, it will be of no use if we do not decide in our hearts and be sincere to do away with Sex.
*Pastor Rho was really making good sense cuz everyone was quiet. Exhortation time na gisting time or siesta time for some people in church, but I was surprised when I saw everybody listening attentively. Shoooo! What happin? Chai! Unlike before wey we go don dey hear soundtracks from the back....No be so e be today oooo. Holy Ghost don shut dem all up. Before wey be sey some baddos for don leave hall go dey gist for outside, they were all glued to their seats.*

- He that joins himself with someone in sex has become one body.
*That is to say; if Brother A have sex with Sister B and in Sister B's family, dem dey die young....since both have become one body through sex, Brother A is probably gon be affected by what's in Sister B's family. So, itz not about the physical consequences (STDs, unwanted pregnancy etc.)....there are some spiritual consequences attached to sex outside marriage, you need to consider.*

- Sex happens to be the center-point of wedding. If after your elaborate wedding ceremony....you have not had sex, you are not yet married.
*I really no understand this point. Can someone led by the Holy Spirit explain to me?*

*Pastor Rho talk one thing wey kinda shock me!*
- Virginity is not about you having your hymen in contact, neither is it about the fact that you have never inserted your male organ into a female's. NO! Itz in the Bible that if you lustfully look at a woman, you have committed adultery and fornication.
*So, what Pastor Rho is telling us here is that you are no longer a virgin if you have looked at a girl lustfully. You are no longer a virgin if you have once watched pornography. You are no longer a virgin if you don chat sex for whatsapp, 2go, BBM or facebook. You are no longer a virgin if your male organ don stand attention or your female organ don wet over sexual things.....Lobatan! We no get virgin again be that for this world....if this is true.*

- You have no idea how many men have had sex with you with the clothes you wear that reveals all those sensitive parts of your body.
Pastor Rho said you ladies should always ask yourselves this question before going out in that dress - "How many guyz will have sex with me with the way am dressed?"*
- Finally, we were advised by him and his wife (He invited his wife to come add some points) that we should feed our hearts with the word of God. Pastor Rho said we guyz are the initiator of sex most times, the less we initiate, we wont commit and even cause the other to sin. The wife warned the ladies to watch the kinda friends they keep.

One thing wey Pastor Mrs. Rho talk wey I like be:
- And if they are in a relationship where the guy is demanding for sex, don't make him look like a devil....try and make him understand. Don't say because he's disturbing you too much, you start saying all sort of bad things to him, making him feel like he's a sinner.
