Yesterday, I had a clear understanding of why I should (not need to) always support my pastors with my substances (financially, spiritually, everythingly). I used to think my offerings and tithes are enough to support my Pastor. If you say there are so many things I need to know....Walahi, you can say that again. What I'm about to share with you all is not only for the Christians.....other religions can learn from this cuz I see it as a general thing.
It was Sisters' Sunday in my church yesterday (Chapel of Victory, Sagamu, Ogun State....the only church in the whole wide world where you are COMPLETELY FREE TO BE YOURSELF.). One of the Professors in my church ministered this special message through the WORD OF GOD. Prof. Olubomehin owns a Charity group in Sagamu....this was enough for me to believe he understood every single word the HOLY SPIRIT said through him.
Every year in my church....there is always a day set aside to celebrate Charity, we call it Charity Day....this year's event took place early this February and I was privileged to witness it again after missing many previous ones. That day, the invited Pastor did something that got me CRAZY; he said he needed only 100 people from the congregation who will be giving the church a sum of 1000 naira monthly. Yeah! Na chicken change. Then I thought, multiplying a thousand naira by 100 people (more than 100 people came out), the result is a 100 thousand naira. So, at the end of the year, the church would have made nothing less than 1.2million naira from these individuals. Mind you, this will not stop their usual offerings every service and their tithes every month. I told my brother after service that NOTHING will stop me from owning a church. Then, I never knew the devil was fingering my brain....Now, after I heard the message I'm about to share with you....I said to myself "I need prayers".....I mean SERIOUS ONE oooo.
God intentionally made me miss the youth service yesterday cuz everything I did to attend my church's youth service all failed. I kukuma decided to stay behind and wait for my family so we can all attend the adult service.
The moment Prof. Olubomehin was invited up the altar by the President of Sisters' Fellowship....something came upon me which I really cant explain what that thing is....my eyes of understanding opened....The sermon was for me to understand the concept of giving to the church and to our Pastor. Prof. Olubomehin used some Bible passages but....*scratches head*....I can't remember any of them cuz I wasn't with my jotter. Lemme try my best to feed you with some points I can remember. Prof. Olubomehin made some great points....some of which are:
- We all need to come to the point of understanding one FACT that Pastors are not beggars. The calling and the anointing upon them is very POWERFUL. They only need our support. Supporting our Pastors with what we have is the best thing that can ever happen to us. They pray hard and fast to get revelations and ministrations which they will use to bless us. These things are not easy as you might have been thinking. A Pastor praying for a congregation of over 500 members will face more devils than you who pray for yourself.....some of you even find it very difficult to pray for yourself. So, they need to be appreciated.
- The way you give to your biological parents almost every month, you should do the same to your Pastors who are your spiritual fathers. You all know that there is a big problem when your father rejects your money or gifts.....I'm very sure that you will not leave that house until things are settled with your father. Now, imagine a situation where your Pastor refuses your gift.
*Prof. Olubomehin said "Praise the Lord"....the congregation's "Hallelujah" was soooo cold....likewise mine....I felt so bad within myself to have ever thought Pastors use style styleto extort money from their members.*
I began to silently ask God for forgiveness....e never reach 10 seconds wey devil come again telling me "Look at you! Na your Senior Pastor give Prof. that topic so that una go dey dey give more to the church and him".
As if Prof. knew the devil was already contradicting his message, he said:
- Come to think of it, Pastor don't even know I was going to be talking about this today. The sisters' Fellowship gave me this topic and it happens to be a topic I've been wanting to treat. Thank God I got the privilege to do it today.
*The devil is one mad man....the moment I heard that, the idiot (devil) kept quiet and left me.*
Prof. Olubomehin continued:
- There has never been a time a man of God walks into my house and leave empty handed. And since I've been doing this, my cup has never run dry.
*This point reminded me of the story of the widow who gave the last meal she and her son was supposed to eat and die to Prophet Elijah.....the miracle afterwards was fabulous*
Prof. Olubomehin also made this very strong point:
- Our Pastors should live a comfortable life. They dropped everything, resigned from their work, hardly have time for their family to become full-time.....all because of US, their members. The burden on Pastors are heavy.....they fight many battles for our sake.....the temptations they face because of us are too much.....when you have a problem, they are the ones you will run to.....they do everything within their power and also with the help of the Almighty God solve your problem. They pray overnight, fast for weeks just for us (their members) all to be blessed and be successful.
- They do not need to beg for it or ask for your money, prayers and what have you before you give them. They deserve it. Their teachings, their lessons, their morals, their prayers, their blessings and their anointing makes them worth it.
Guyz, Prof. Olubomehin made boku boku great points.....buh, as I said earlier I didn't write anything. When I decided to share this great message with you.....the devil made me sooo lazy! I should have published this post yesterday evening, the devil tried buh na me WIN last last....shame to the bastard!
I hope you have been enlightened in one way or the other. My mentality about PASTORS and MONEY has totally changed since yesterday.
Let us all cultivate the idea of supporting our Church Leaders, Mosque Leaders, Shrine Leaders etc with our MONEY, PRAYERS....anything whatsoever!
