I don't even know why crazy things happen around me. But I'm loving them sha....cuz they make me learn more. This is a case of a father and a son who is 28 years of age. The bros it happened to claimed his father slapped him TWICE which he sees as RUBBISH and UNRESPECTFUL. Is it, anyway?
He vex comot house kan dey carry hin body and load come my papa house. He narrated his story and I blamed him for everything. Yes! You claim that you are an adult and shouldn't be treated by your father like that.....I agree.....but explain to me what you are still doing in your father's house at age 28? Your father slap you the first time.....your mumuness high to the level wey be sey the second slap land for your face.
If to sey I dey there when my friend papa slap am ni.....I go just dey laff gidigan. I told him; "You kan vex comot for house dey come my place. Sheybe na slap your papa slap you? If my papa meet you for here, he will hang you."
Even me that I'm 23 gan sef, I can't do what will make my popsi slap me. The worse he'll do is shout at me. My friend must have vexed his father to the point of slap.
I kan later dey think am, but if my papa slap me, what will I do gaann? This is something that can happen to any of us. For sure, I can't retaliate....when dem no born me well. Me cannot vex comot house....na pikin action be that. Because, I go still surely come back to beg.....so what's the point?
I still don't know the right thing to do to a father who slaps his son or daughter at that age, 28. Who fit help me abeg?

ReplyDeleteNumber one your friend conscented to the slap when at 28,a grown a33 man go still dey live for im papa house.am sure he is still collecting pocket money from the old man and loafing around instead od being a man by leaving that house and get a job.economic dependence on your parents at adulthood is tantamount to lack of self respect.

at 21,me as a female had left my parents house and hadnt seen them in years talkless of collecting money from them.i went in search of a job,a house and a life. We only see during festivities like xmas,new year,easter etc
Anyway thats what happens when a man chooses to continue living like a 19 year old boy.the slap sef never reach,the papa go soon tell am to stoop down in the presence of visitor *grin*
solution :you can ask him to live with you TEMPORARILY while he goes to get a job.as soon as he gets a job,he should leave because i doubt your parents will be cool with that arrangement of your friend living with you because his father slapped him infact the 2nd and last time my father slapped me was 17.the first was 13 and the second and last was 17.even the second one i wont really call that slap,it was an attempted slap because as his hand was landing on my face i used my hand to block his hand,when he tried another one,i pushed him to the fridge and ran away and thats several years ago.so i cant imagine my father or mother (God bless them for me) slapping me at my age and level.it cant even happen in their wildest dream because ots been long they have seen me last.even the last born that is 24 has found his level8-)

DeleteParents can slap any of their children living with them or alone anytime or any where they feel disrepected.....
My Dad once told us how his mum slapped him when on his office uniform on a visit at the age of fourty after five kids.......what could he do? Nothing!!!!
Btw,he started staying alone at the age of 17 ...
so Madam, stay with them or alone,them go slap u anytime anyday if u messup......

Parents give their kids the respect they deserve. But that respect shouldn't be taken for granted by the child.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they're still alive and your parent, they've every right to hit you like a kid when necessary, irrespective of your age.
I could remember the day i fuvcked-up and my mum smacked my bom-bom in the presence of hubby and kids cheesy cheesy , and her words were "if you like be a mother of 2dozens,you are still my lil girl" cheesy , my kids laughed their a*sses out as if it was funny lol.
Jawbone, tell your friend to respect himself or better still leave his father's house, he's old enough!

Slap(aka manual reset) is for correction not fight since he can't flog U again
My question to some of U is, what do u want him to do when u ʞɔnɟ up, shout and keep grudges?
At the age of 28, a man is more than fully grown. If my dad slapped me at that age, I would slap him back, probably give him a mouth full of loose teeth.
ReplyDeleteAt the age of 21, I wasn't living at home, so the "while you're under my roof, you must respect me" rubbish doesn't apply to me.
Respect works both ways, and MUST be earned. It's not an exclusive right, by default.
