Welcome to the 9th Episode

"Are you proposing to me, Mike?" I was happy.
Mike - "Sorry my dear, I didn't mean to propose over the phone but yes I am and you better not say no".
"Of course I won't say no" I replied excitedly.
Mike - "So will you marry me my dear Angel?"
Me - "Yes I will my love, I will"
Mike - "Thank you for not rejecting me. Let's meet tomorrow and I'll propose to you properly"
Me - "Alright dear. I love you"
Mike - "I love you more. Goodnight Monamo"

I was really happy, it was a dream come true. That day was really a great day. Sanzy met Christ, my sister is coming home after several years abroad and she's getting married, now Mike just proposed to me, so I'm getting married too. It was late before sleep finally took me to dreamland. The next day I met Mike after work and he gave me a very beautiful ring. I showed it to my friends. Sanzy was very happy for me and Jane just said congratulations.

Weekend came and I went to my parent's home. I took off my ring because I didn't want to tell my parents yet, I wanted to plan my surprise. Saturday evening, I was in my mum's room, we were drafting out plans for my sister's wedding; list of guest sand all that when suddenly my mum said:
"when am I getting to meet him Angela?"
"Who?" I asked.
Mum - "The man who has done this to you"
Me - "Done what mum?"
Mum - "Angela, for about three months or so now, you've been really different. Always cheerful and happy, smiling and laughing at every little joke. And this weekend you look double excited. You look like someone in love"
Me - "Oh mom! You are right. I am in love. I've found love mom"
Mum - "I knew it! Tell me about him"
Me - "His name is Mike, we've met each other for a while now and he proposed to me three days ago. My ring is in my purse. I just hid it from you cos I'm not ready to tell you yet"
I brought out my engagement ring from my purse and showed it to mum. She was so happy for me.

Mum - "So when are you bringing him home?"
Me - "He'll come for Patricia's wedding"
Mum - "Can't I get to see him before then?"
Me - "No, he's a very busy man. He's an architect and he works with Trans Amadi construction company, he also partly manages his Uncle's hotel on weekends"
Mum - "Okay. But I'm sure he won't be too busy to meet his in-laws"
Me - "Of course not. But I want the meeting to be during my sister's wedding. In the meantime, I'll be seeing his parents next week"
Mum - "Alright dear, I wish you the best"
"Thanks mom" I said and gave her a big hug.

Three weeks later my sister arrived and we were introduced to her fiancee. The wedding date was decided on and it was to be exactly a month after her arrival. My sister announced that she would be around for only a couple of months after her wedding cuz she had to get back to work abroad.
"That's still a lot of time for Angela to plan her wedding", Mom said
"Is it true Angela? You didn't tell me you were waiting for me", Patricia said.
Me - "Actually sister, I wasn't waiting for you and I don't know what gave mom the idea that I'll want to get married within the next three months".
Mum - "You are engaged already so why the wait?"
I just shook my head

"Well, to me you seem excited about this mysterious fiancee of yours and since he has already given you an engagement ring I don't think you should wait much longer" Dad chipped in.
Me - "Dad I see mom has been feeding you with a lot of stories"
Dad - "Well not only that, I want to meet him".
Me - "Alright dad, I was thinking of introducing him on Patricia's wedding but I guess you'll have to meet him sooner than I thought"
Mum - "Wow!!! Angela, let's meet him tomorrow"
Me - "Mommy!?"
"I think tomorrow is good too", Dad supported.
Patricia - "That's a good idea kid sis, I'll really love to meet him"
Me - "Big sis, I think you should remove that kid from the sis, I'm no longer a kid so just Sis will do"
"Oh common dear sister, you'll always be my kid sister" Patricia said and everyone of us bursted into laughter.

I picked my phone and dialed Mike's number.
Mike - "Hello my Angel"
Me - "Hello honey, how are you today?"
Mike - "I'm fine and you?"
Me - "I'm doing great. Well honey there is a new development. My parents will like to meet you tomorrow, are you free?"
Mike - "Of course I'm free. You know I've always wanted to meet them"
Me - "Alright then, is 4pm ok? So we can have time to prepare after church"
Mike - "Of course its perfect. I love you honey"
Me - "Same here dear, don't ever doubt my love for you"
Mike - "Bye my love"
Me - "Yea bye".
I dropped the call amidst giggles and smiles from my parents and sibling.

"So you guys get ready to meet your in-law by 4pm tomorrow" I said and I stood up to go into my room.
"Okay lover girl", my mum said and burst into laughter.
"How much my little sister have grown" I heard Patricia tell my parents as I opened the door to my room.
"Oh that girl! Didn't she hear not to call me little or kid anymore?" I thought.

Sunday came and we went to church. Immediately we came back from church, my mum went into the kitchen to started preparing for Mike's arrival. My mum seem so excited that her two daughters have found happiness. I sent the address to mike as SMS and hope he doesn't miss his way. I reminded him not to be late cuz my dad is so time conscious and values punctuality. At 3pm, mom told me to go get dressed since everything was almost ready. I wore one of the beautiful dresses Patricia brought for me. At 3:45pm the gate man announced that we have a guest. I rushed to the gate and I saw Mike as he was stepping out of his car. He looked so handsome dressed in a blue shirt on pant trousers. I rushed to hug him.
"Wow you look so handsome sweetie" I said amidst kisses.
Mike - "And you look extremely gorgeous my Angel. That gown is exquisite"
Me - "Thank you. Come on in, my parents are waiting for you. Don't tell me you are nervous"
Mike - "Well I am"
Me - "Don't worry, they are nice people"
"Of course they are", he said as I opened the door to the living room and I saw Dad, Mom, My sister and her fiancee already seated.

Mike greeted them as I made the following introduction:
"Dad, Mum, Sis, Brother in-law, meet my one and only Fiancee, the apple of my eyes and the love of my life, Mike Davies. Mike here's my mum and dad. Over there is my sister, Patricia and her fiancee Roberto".
They all greeted Mike as if they had known him for years. And they started a conversation with him. Suddenly, Mike said:
"Mr. Roberto, I think I know you somewhere. Did you perhaps attended Havard University?"
Roberto - "Yes, I graduated from Havard University with a first class honors but I don't think I know you"
