Event: The Biggest 'Nigerian Student Fashion & Design Week' to Hold in September.

Emerging fashion designers across Nigeria are set to showcase their designs and creations at the Sixth Edition of the annual Nigerian Student Fashion and Design Week (NSFDW) scheduled to hold in September.

The NSFDW will hold at Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos from September 2nd through September 8th, 2018.

Started in 2013 by Founder, Abiola Orimolade, NSFDW has showcased over 500 fashion designers.

With this year’s edition themed ‘Fashion & the Millennial’, organisers of the fashion show have sealed special collaborations with African Fashion Week Houston (a major U.S. based international cultural fashion showcase), Glitz Africa Fashion Week Ghana, and Swahili Fashion Week. This partnership will align together to select some well deserving participants from this year’s Nigerian Student Fashion and Design Week who will go on to showcase at these events outside the country.

“Creating a better fashion industry requires teamwork, partnerships, and collaboration, as we need an entire army of companies and brands to work together to build a better industry within the next few decades,” said Orimolade while speaking on efforts to host the fashion show.

“We hope the collaborations NSFDW has created this year will encourage more partnerships amongst fashion weeks and fashion brands in Africa. Furthermore, the partnership deal NSFDW has been able to seal with African Fashion Week Houston, Glitz Africa Fashion Week and Swahili Fashion Week will provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for these outstanding designers to take on their skills to a global stage which means more visibility and opportunities for their brands”.

Fashion Week is back!!!

The 6th edition of the highly anticipated NSFDW6 is scheduled to kick off on the 2nd of September through the 8th of September with various activities taking place at different locations in Lagos with a grand finale fashion showcase on the 8th of September at the Federal Palace Hotel VI.

Below is the schedule for the week:

Monday 3rd: Fashion Business Forum;

Tuesday 4th: Off The Runway/Street Photography
Theme: Arts Meets Fashion (for Models, Designers, Fashion Enthusiasts);

Wednesday 5th: Fashion Night Out  (Network, Chill & Party);

Thursday 6th: Press Accreditation;

Friday 7th: Visit to Home of Children with Cerebral Palsy;

Saturday 8th: Grand Finale (Gala Show).

There will be two shows taking place during the grand finale, 1st show kicks off from 3pm-6pm while the 2nd show kicks off from 7pm-10pm.
