My people, how una dey? Make I sharpaly drop this one for you. This happened on Monday. Remember I told you that I took the marketing of my family business to the streets of Ijebu-Ode. Incase you missed the gist, read it here ----->>> NEVER LOOK DOWN ON ANYONE/ANYTHING, NO MATTER WHAT. MY EXPERIENCE.

As a very ambitious man that I am, I was over zealous to visit Ijebu-Ode again on Monday with my brother to introduce our books to many more schools we could reach, and this time it wasn't as rosy as the last visit was.

I waka long distance I no see any school. That one first of all discourage me so much that I almost called my brother to let's meet where we parked the vehicle and just go back home. Just as at the point I was about to make my decisions, I found a school. Come and see the fountain of joy that erupted in me. The school wasn't really looking nice but I didn't allow that affect me as I have learnt so much about considering the structure of a school before marketing to them (from my last experience).

Though, it sounded funny when the Headmistress said:
"Welcome to *name withheld* INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL"
I smiled and took it as an expensive joke, saying to myself:
"International school true true, I can even see how international your school is"
I felt more discouraged when I was turned down. The H.M told me he really loved our books but they are not just ready to change the books they are currently using for their pupils. I left the school feeling very sad. I was like "which kind day be this sef? I don dey waka since morning, I no find school, the one wey I kan find, that one dey tell me rubbish".

As I walking along the road side, grumbling and complaining to myself, I saw a big school. I was so overjoyed to the point that I didn't know how I take carry myself cross road enter the school. I asked for the Head teacher and I was lucky to be taken to the Proprietress. Una sabi me already na, my sweet mouth no dey ever fail me but on this faithful day, the devil showed up.

I handed the books over to the woman and as she was glancing through the books, me dey nail am with my sweet talks about how fabulous and good the books will be for her school. I took the smile on her face as she flipped through the pages of the books to be approval and love for the books. It dawned on me that I've entered the wrong school when she called for 3 teachers to come check out the books. When a thing like this happens, it means the Proprietress is interested.

The teachers went through the books and were also smiling as they they did, making me believe they've found the books good for their school. I was actually happy thinking I don hammer. My heart became sore when the 3 teachers together with their Oga Madam started throwing questions about the books from all angle at me. They brought the books they were using and compared them to ours and ended up telling me our books are below standard and they cannot make use of the books for their dogs.

Nothing wey I no talk to convince them sey I no come to compare but just to make them see the books and if interested, they should make use of it. All my marketing strategy shots had no effect on them at all as they all tackled me badly that I felt embarrassed and regretted ever entering the school. They succeeded in bringing down my morale for the day. I never knew some people could just be so cruel and wicked not to have at least appreciated someone who has taken out time to do something, even if the 'something' is not gon be useful for them.

I walked out of the school and headed towards the spot where the vehicle was parked. On my way, I noticed another school and I wondered how I was unable to see the school cuz it was on the same route I took to that God-forsaken school. I didn't wanna enter the school cuz I felt I have had enough for the day already. Buh I sluggishly entered the school, not knowing I had entered my breakthrough point.

I just gave the Head Teacher the books to check, I didn't even say a single word cuz I was still affected by the treatment I had in the hands of the teachers of the school I just left. After the Head Teacher had thoroughly gone through the books, he made my day by assuring me that he'll recommend our books to be used in all their branches. Na there I know sey the school I entered is an annex of a great school which had its campuses scattered all over Ijebu-Ode. The man and I talked at length and I got connected to some other great schools around them. We offer training to schools who find it difficult to use our books as they were written in a very different and unique approach. This same man informed me of a meeting that will be attended by Ijebu-Ode Private Schools' Proprietors where I would be privileged to talk to many schools at a goal about our books and other services, all for free.

One door was closed, but because I didn't give up (though I almost did), many doors were opened.

To give up is very easy but to lose those valuable benefits after giving up will hit you hard. No matter the circumstances, never give up. If you have people standing against what you are doing, that is to show you that what you're doing has got potentials, so you just have to keep pushing, keep moving until you get there.

My favorite quote: "If I'm going to ever fall in life, I will fall forward"

There are stories of successful individuals you know who never gave up on what they were doing, watch their ways and learn the art of moving on in the midst of adversaries. When I started a personal blog, everyone around me even members of my families went against it, I owned my VISION and IDEAS, I knew where I was going, they didn't. So that alone gave me every reasons I shouldn't get affected by their harsh and abusive words, I just kept on doing what I love to do. Now, this same set of people want to get featured on my blog. Though, I still have some of them who still antagonizes what I do, but I give them some little time, they'll understand what it's all about.

My brothers and sisters, please never think of giving up on that project just because it is yet to bring forth fruits. By the time the fruits start showing up, people around you go think sey na money ritual you do.

NEVER GIVE UP cuz IT IS NOT OVER UNTIL IT IS OVER so NEVER SAY NEVER!!!
