FINDING LOVE THROUGH BETRAYAL - EPISODE 5 [BY TEE SILVA]

Happy Sunday lovelies. How was today's service in church? I heard all Pastors now preach about Ebola Virus, your Pastor talk about am? It is well sha. Let us chill on this blessed Sunday with the continuation of Tee Silva's Love Story. All of you wey always like to dey carry last should read previous episodes ----->>> HERE .

Welcome to the 5th Episode:

"You think I should?" I asked
Sanzy - "Yes, you should"

I picked up my phone and dialed my mum's number
"Hello dear daughter" I heard my mum's familiar voice
Me - "Hello mum"
Mum - "How are you dear?"
Me - "I'm fine mum... I just want to know if you're back from the trip"
Mum - "Yes I am, your dad had a family emergency so we had to book the early flight home"
Me - "Family emergency? I see. Anyways I'll be home within a couple of hours. Since you're back, I'll like to attend church tomorrow"
Mum - "Alright dear, I'll be waiting for you"
Me - "Bye mum"
Mum - "Bye"

Me - "Did you hear that Sanzy? My parents came home from their trip because dad supposedly had a family emergency"
Sanzy - "Hmmm. But why did you tell your mum you were coming?"
Me - "Because I'm going home now"
Sanzy - "Just take it easy with your dad okay? You won't get anything telling your mum. It will only make their marriage fall apart and I'm sure you don't want that"
Me - "Alright friend. Thanks. I'll go get ready now"
Sanzy - "Okay take care"
Me - "You too"

With that, I walked out of Sanzy's room and headed for my room. I didn't see Jane and her mysterious guest in the living room, they must have gone to her room but definately not out of the house cos I could see scattered cloths on the living room floor. I went to my room, packed my weekend bag and headed for my parents home. After about two and a half hours, I got home. My mum rushed to greet me with her usual excitement on seeing her daughter.
Me - "What of Dad?"
Mum - "He traveled to the village since yesterday"
Me - "To the village?"
Mum - "Yes, to the village, I told you there was a family emergency, he had to rush down" 

How smart of dad to find a perfect excuse to leave home for a few days. My mum seem oblivious to him. She doesn't seem to know what he's up to. She's all so trusting and loving. I settled down to my room and Sunday morning we prepared for church. After church service, we came back home, had lunch and I was about taking a short nap before going back to my apartment when daddy's car horn sounded at the gate.
"Looks like your dad is back", mum said with excitement in her voice, she seemed to have missed her husband the couple of days he has been gone. I felt guilty looking at her.
"Hi honey", my dad said from the door and my mum rose up to give him a hug.
Mum - "Welcome sweetheart, I've missed you"
Dad - "I miss you too honey".

I rose up from the dining room and joined them in the living room.
"Are you sure about that dad?" I asked.
My dad seem a little surprised to see me, I guess he wasn't expecting to meet me at home.
"Of course daughter. I didn't know you are here, when did you arrive?" He said avoiding my eyes
Me - "Yesterday"
Dad - "Okay, thank God you are here. I have a little surprise for you"
"Surprise? What is it" I asked not too excited
Dad - "Your car will be arriving on Thursday, so you can pick it up when you come home next weekend"
"Really?" I asked. Is he bribing me or what?

Mum - "Honey, you didn't tell me you were getting Angela a car"
Dad - "Well I just decided to, I wanted it to surprise everybody"
Mum - "That's thoughtful of you. Come have your seat and tell me what the family emergency was that had to cut our trip"
I looked at dad, but he was avoiding my eyes.
Me - "Well honey, I know you will be disappointed because I was too"
Mum - "Why is that?"
Dad - "Because, its no emergency at all. It was my uncle who wanted to see me and have them tell me on phone that it was an emergency so I could come"

Oh my!!! Did my dad just lie?
"You mean they had to cut our trip because they just wanted to see you? We shouldn't have taken that damn phone along with us", my mum said bitterly.
"Common honey, we can always go on another trip. I will make it up to you", dad said and kissed mum.

Oh men! How could my mum believe that story? Well, I could have believed too if I hadn't seen him somewhere else. That was how much I trusted my dad up until now. I went into my room to pack my things. I don't need that damn nap anymore, I will just get going. As I was preparing to leave, my dad came into my room and closed the door behind him.
"I'm sorry Angela. I'm so sorry", he pleaded
Me - "Sorry? Dad did you just say sorry? You just lied to the woman who showed you all the love in the world and God knows how many times you have been lying to her, to me, to us all".
Dad - "It's not what you think. I love your mum more than anything in the world, but see...Your mum is getting old, she's no longer what she was in bed. I need more than she can give and I don't want to hurt her by telling her that".
Me - "You don't want to hurt her? What do you think will happen to her if she found out what you did? Hen? Anyway I'm leaving and the only reason I'll be coming back to this house is because of my mum, and don't think you can bribe me with that car of yours, I don't need it"
Dad - "Common Angela, you've always wanted your own car"
Me - "Yes I've always wanted my own car but you've always disagreed, telling me I don't need a car, so why now? Why are you buying me a car now dad? Beacuse you are afraid I'll let out your secret? Of course I won't, cos I don't want to see my mum hurt".
Dad - "Angela, its not like you are a saint in this matter, do you think she'll be happy hearing what you did?"
"Dad, say whatever you want to say, but I'm 24, I have my own life to live, and I don't think I've done too much by attending a party" I shot back at him.
Dad - "Yes you are 24, you have your own life to live and all that, but why did you open that door?"
Me - "I'm not going to answer that question so don't even ask me. Goodbye".

I carried my bag and stormed out of the room; I met my mum in the living room and told her I was leaving. Mum - "Why? Its just 1pm and moreover I thought you wanted to take a nap before you leave".
Me - "I changed my mind. Bye mum, take care"
Mum - "God bless you my daughter" she hugged me and I left.

"What's happening between you and your daughter?" I heard mum asked Dad but I didn't hear his response.

I took a cab to my work apartment. On getting there I saw Mike's car outside......
