#CHNG - WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME FOR ME TO HAVE A GIRLFRIEND?

Ayam currently not happy as I dey write this post. As old as I am, how will my father say I never ripe to have a girlfriend? You can just imagine.

By the Grace of God, I'll be 23 on August 30th.....Abeg, what is disqualifying me from having a girlfriend? Me I want to know oooo. Because I don't even seem to get myself ontop this matter. My mum knows I've got a girlfriend but she has never met her.... My dad knows too buh never said or asked me anything about it. Recently, he asked me about my girlfriend I talked about one time, who lives in Ibadan. I answered and told him she's very fine and she's doing good....The next thing my papa tell me na:
"Yinka, you know it is wrong for you to have a girlfriend at this your age?"....the spoon in my hand dropped on hearing this.

He continued, "You are just 23. You have a great future ahead of you. You are talented and you know girls are destiny killers.".....my eye balls nearly jump comot from their sockets when I heard this, shey you girls are destiny killers loto ni?.

My dad didn't stop there, "They will ruin your career. They don't have anything to offer you than collect the little you are managing."……Haaaa, my dad is taking this too far, it was like I was hearing this for the very first time.

He moved on to say, "I'm not going to say anything about this topic again. If your mother is approving your having a girlfriend, thatz her own.....As for me, I am not approving it. You still have a long way to go. You don't need any girl in your life at this stage that you are. Go and write it down, if you enter into any gbege, I Ifede Olalekan Joshua will make sure you suffer the consequences"……then he stood up and left me alone on the dinning table.

My heart begin dey beat fast, fast, faster, faster and fastest! I quickly reached out for my phone to read a post I published sometime ago ----->>> TIPS ON CHRISTIAN DATING, COURTSHIP AND MARRIAGE. I scrolled down to the place where someone asked Pastor Lanre Adenekan this question:
- As A Christian, Can I Have A Boyfriend At Age 20? If Yes, What Should Be My Conduct And If No, When Should I Have One?
Pastor answered by saying - "Personally, I don't quite like the terminology boyfriend when it comes to Christians. I don't really like that terminology because, of what it has meant over the years or what it has represented really but, if you are talking about having someone you intend to marry, not somebody you play around with for a while and change again, and play around for a while and change yet again, if somebody you want to get married to, that's the language we Christians use you see, there is nothing wrong in having such a person at the age twenty only that you prayerfully go about it, make sure you have a proper guide in your church leadership or fellowship leadership as the case may be, your conduct I'm going to have to give you a seminar to describe your conduct but I will simply say here that you try to conduct yourself as you find in the bible and in the word of God. Praise God!."

After reading this, I felt a lil bit OK! I sighed and came back to my normal self. Going by what Pastor said up there....there is nothing wrong in having someone you intend to marry at age twenty only that you have to prayerfully go about it.....I intend to marry my CHNGirl (datz if she says YES).....buh me never prayerfully go about it....na the problem be that.

Why my Papa wan give me heart attack? As if wetin I do reach murder. I kan later dey be like - "Abi, this man dey think sey na my younger brother em dey follow talk ni?" Pastor said I'm old enough to have a girlfriend (Oh sorry, Pastor said he does not like the 'girlfriend' terminology.....what are we now gon call it? Spouse? Fiancee? Life Partner? No oooo, she never reach that stage na. Letz just call her my companion. Pastor, that one nko?). I only just have to conduct myself in the relationship. And truly, I'm conducting myself.....at least, we never hug and kiss.....lolz.....we are keeping ourselves for our wedding nite.....hehe!

So, you don hear now......if you are not up to 20 years of age.....Hey! Go and divorce that your girlfriend or boyfriend.....you never ripe to have ONE!
