It has come to my notice (through the pageviews I get on each song/video I upload here) that almost everyone do not download songs or videos by upcoming acts. In fact, I've had many of my fans ask me why I only post upcoming songs on my blog. My answer has always been: "They are the future....I support the upcoming, the good ones though not the already made."
And I think I'm kinda right. My phone is filled with upcoming artistes' songs. I never get bored listening to them. I play them for my friends and even share some on my blog. I'm doing all of these cuz there are actually some upcoming artistes that are better than the already made artistes. I won't mention names neither will I refer any of my statements to anyone but I'd really love you to sometimes try to listen to some of their songs.
Many of these upcoming artistes put in their best in all of their songs cuz they understand the simple fact that the industry is very competitive. Most music lovers believe upcoming acts don't do good music, they are known for very poor production and whack lyrics.....na old stories be this ooo. Some upcoming acts dey para bad bad now ooo.
I need you all to understand that the already made artistes were once upcoming, they were good and also lucky or blessed to find a good promoter who with the help of God got them on the right track. Good music is meant to be supported irrespective of the maker.
A member of the Mavin Crew released a track last year (when he was still upcoming and yet to be signed onto Mavin Records), I downloaded that song and shared with some of my friends. This song was massively promoted by God knows who but unfortunately didn't enjoy many downloads. This same song was released again this year (after being signed on Mavin Records) and to my greatest surprised, it was downloaded by over a million peeps and even trended on twitter for TWO good days. Many blogs even posted it for free, the same song they ignored last year.
Well, what more can I say?
SUPPORT GOOD MUSIC. DO GOOD MUSIC. SPREAD GOOD MUSIC.
