It wasn't funny that night, though it have teyed. Every time I set my eyes on a Policeman, I remember that night, the experience had made me hate the Police force. They are bunch of ass holes, lazy cowards......if you are a Policeman reading this, ave gat no apology for ya, unless if you are different.
I'm not supposed to write this cuz e don tey wey e happen, like around last year......buh, ave bin looking forward to an opportunity where I'd be able to voice this thing out......and am very happy ayam doing it today. We hear different stories of how one Policeman beat up an innocent man......how another Policeman shot and killed an innocent woman......we read stuffs like this on newspapers.......what about the ones we don't get to read on newspapers?......It happens almost everyday.
That policeman almost shot me that night......what happened?
I was going home from a pharmaceutical company in Agbeni, Ibadan where my oga and I went to install a store inventory software. I'd been there since 7am tirelessly working to ensure we finished the installation and the stock taking that day......we actually didn't finish it that day. So, by 8pm I was rushing home to go eat and rest......I was damn tired......I couldn't wait to get home! I boarded a bus from Agbeni straight to the junction of my street.......We got to Gate and we were stopped by some set of Policemen (why am I even starting their name with a capital letter sef?......policemen)
I was in the front seat beside the door......Gate is always a very rowdy place at nights, thereby causing lil hold up......one of the policemen stopped my bus (traffic control)......then it got to a point that I thought the driver should keep going, since the vehicles in front of us at the other side were already moving, buh he didn't. So, I shouted at the driver saying:
"Baba, s'eti sun ni? E move now." - "Baba, have you slept off? Move now"
Abeg, shey I don talk too much ni?
I said this and the policeman heard what I said. He got angry cuz I told the Baba to move forward when he had not ordered Baba to move. The policeman was at the other side of the bus, I mean with the driver......he walked pass the front of the bus and kept yelling till he got to my side and forcefully opened the door saying:
"WHO ARE YOU? WHO IS CONTROLLING WHO HERE? ARE YOU MAD? E NO GO BETTER FOR YOU! YOUR PAPA DEY CRAZE? ABI OLOSHI NI E NI?"
Yes, I vividly remember his words that night. I can never forget them. He said all that with an AK47 type of gun in his hand.
I was not even moved an inch by all his blabbing. Buh, brothers and sisters in the house, I was completely moved by his heavy PUNCH......"GBOOOOO".....that was the next sound I heard and it all landed on my face.
Then the passengers started begging him......they shouldn't have begged him cuz their pleas gingered him to do more......Na hin brother policeman cork gun sey him go shoot me if I dare move or talk.
At this point, I got so so so angry that I wanted to come down from the bus and challenge him to pull the trigger.....as an "Ijebu boy with Igbo sense".....the man beside me in the bus discovered my movement, so he quickly held me down......I wanted to struggle buh the man held me down strongly.
My head don dey hot.......infact, flames don dey comot from my head......I thought about all the ways I could use to teach this policeman a lesson......as I was about to bring out my phone to call my dad......he jammed the door and ordered the useless Baba that kobad me to drive away. I was very unfortunate to check for his name on his cloth.
That one no vex me at all.......the wash wey kan dey there - We got to the next junction and some passengers alighted from the bus......and then I saw the babe wey I don toast for Agbeni appear by my side.....she came to check the guy who was punched by the policeman......and she said:
"WHAT? So, it was you? Wow! Sorry oooooo"
I became deaf and dumb......it was soooo embarrassing that she even called her mum (they were together in the bus) to come and see the guy that was punched.......she told her mum that she knew me......her mum too said her own:
"Heyaaaaa......pele ooooooo"
And me, am this kind of person that if something is paining me and some people are saying words like:
"Heya, pele, sorry etc" and all sorts.
I go dey cry ni.
I nearly cried that night.
The assault, the embarrassment, the disgrace and the the fact that I was ridiculed by a fellow Nigerian really pained me to the point of concluding that these policemen have been affected by the color of their cloth - Most of them are BLACK in complexion, the color of their cloth is BLACK.....so, their brain too is BLACK.
I'm still looking forward to a day such will happen again and I swear, I will deal with the idiot.
I know some of us would have had one or two experiences with these lazy cowards. Letz talk about it!
