In that short while, I've drunk enough vodka to make me tipsy and not drunk so I knew I was hearing my name;
'Make some noise for Last Born and Sisi Oge, C'mon make some noooooise!'.
The half drunk and ecstatic party makers cheered Sisi Oge because she is a public figure but nobody knew me so I wondered how the hyper knew my name, I cursed the stupid party hyper for calling my name because I was really enjoying my company with Sisi Oge. I started staring towards Shine Po quizzically though I knew he didn't know my name so "who would have told the hyper my name?" I thought. My question was answered almost immediately because I saw Nas in the DJ booth pointing towards me and laughing. Sisi Oge had stood up reluctantly and walked to the dance floor but I remained seated, I quickly concentrated on my cell phone in pretence but my gimmick didn't work because the hyper walked up to me with the mic in his hands and pulled me up from my seat.
As we walked towards the dance floor, Sisi Oge was surprised to see that I am her dance partner. My heart started racing fast because I am far from who can be considered as a dancer. So I knew I would definitely strip myself or pay a lot of fine.
Sadly, I've got just about three hundred and fifty naira on me and I know I cannot bring out such a money in this gathering so I had no choice but to dance so I danced as best as I could but my best only made the cheering crowd whose majority are high on booze, skunk and marijuana. As they cheered me on, I took shot breaks and swallowed as much alcohol as I could, when the music finally stopped for the crowd to pick their winner I was surprised that I lost so I pulled off my shirt and drank more in preparation for the next round.
Three rounds later, it dawned on me that I had just my boxer shorts on. "Omo, wetin come gimme this kind confidence”, I thought, I summoned the skill and courage of my ancestors who were masquerades then entered the next round tapping my feet and swinging my hips to the rhythm of the beat at a point I held her close and two stepped with her. My third leg started to bulge but I paid less attention to it and danced on. When the music finally stopped I was not surprised to be announced as the winner but she was. Apparently, she never imagined herself losing to me or peeling off a tiny strand of hair from her body but she had no choice because the crowd were chanting;
“stripe! stripe!! stripe!!!”.
She demanded to bail herself out so her bail was set at 50k but as God will have it she has less than 10k on her and no one offered to help her out, not even Shine Po or Omo Alhaja.
Finally, she slowly slipped out of her gown with her head bowed in shame, she couldn't look up as she stepped out of her gown, the crowd cheered and whistled even louder when they saw her body. She has a skimmed chocolate skin. I felt my third leg bulging and I know everyone present also saw it, I quickly moved close to the shy girl and pulled her out of the dance floor straight out of the party hall.
The crowd jeered and the hyper praised us, as I pulled her towards Shipe Po's car, a series of flashes from a photo camera almost blinded me so I quickly shielded my face with my hands. The door to the car was wide open as I approached it, I quickly pushed her in and slipped in behind her, before I could shut the door, the car was already being reversed out of the parking space. Shine Po drove us straight to Limelight hotel and lodged us in.
